Top tips for arranging your wedding at Newdowns Farm
Basics to consider...
Shelter - Design your totally unique wedding space. Choose from a festival Tipi, a classic Sailcloth tent, or traditional Marquee. Sailcloth tents and Marquees provide a perfect mix of Art Deco beauty and simplicity. Whereas Tipi's provide something most people have never seen before, real event ‘wow’ factor. All options are perfect for dining, celebrating and dancing the night away.
Catering - Opt for a relaxed natural dining experience; grazing boards, sharing-style picnic hampers, mini pasties, cheese, chutneys, bbq's, salads. Consider a pizza or fish and chips wagon for the evening for the full festival vibe.
Power - organise on-site power for your DJ, caterers and party lighting. Generators can be delivered and collected. We recommend Ellis Event Generators.
Furnishings / decor - Keep the décor simple - the setting is the focal point. We recommended featuring a floral arch that frames shimmering blue sea, a perfect backdrop for wedding photographs or ceremony vowels. Remember internal and external sparkling fairy lights and outdoor festoons for that extra magical vibe.
Floor Plan - Stick to a layout plan for the space, you won’t regret it. Use signs to direct guests to the different areas of the space.
Camping / Glamping - For your wedding night accommodation hire a honeymoon Bell Tent and have it pitched next to your marquee. End the perfect day without having to travel to a hotel, with the extra bonus of waking up to the incredible view your guests.
Photography - Breathtakingly beautiful, Newtown’s is completely inspired by the natural wonders of Cornwall. Quite honestly, we sometimes feel spoilt rotten with some of the locations we are fortunate to pitch our Bell Tents, and Newdowns is one of them. You won’t be disappointed with the photo opportunities available here. We recommend taking a walk to the coastal path at sunset for photos of the flowering heather and amazing coastal views.
Toilets / showers - There are a variety of sanitisation suppliers in Cornwall. Options range from the simple portaloo’s to luxury toilets with pamper rooms. Showers might be needed if you are planning a Glamping wedding.
Insurance - Lastly we recommend taking out insurance to protect you incase of adverse weather or if a supplier pulls out.
